    1. I've read a couple of B.E. Sanderson's mysteries, but this was the first of her paranormal books I've read. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Jo Mayweather is a former flapper from the twenties turned genie who has dedicated her immortal existence to freeing other genies from the slavery of that master and three wishes crap. The author does a great job of creating the world of the genie, which is complete with a bureaucratic council who sets rules, gets really nitpicky about genie behavior, and who is ov [...]

    2. I started reading this yesterday morning and like I did with B E’s previous books, I stayed up late to finish. I didn’t intend to, I had 25% left to read when I hit the hay, but I just couldn’t go to sleep without finding out how it ended. I really enjoyed this book and the main reason for that was because I had no idea where it was going and what was going to happen. Quite often it’s easy to guess or predict what’s going to happen and where the story will take you, but I had nothing w [...]

    3. WISH IN ONE HAND is the first book in what I hope will be at least a trilogy by B.E. Sanderson. This Urban Fantasy is my catnip. Jo Mayweather is a Djinn. She was freed upon the death of her Master (who also married her) and has made it the mission of her immortal life to free other Djinns. This isn't "I Dream of Jeannie." Jo is smart, dedicated, and ready to sacrifice her own skin to save those of her friends. The author has created a complex set of magical rules for Djinn that adds delicious la [...]

    4. I liked it. Jo is another strong female, in this case a genie. This author creates strong but flawed female characters. Jo annoyed me with her constant whining about her father, her mother, and her ex-lover but in the end she came around and got over herself. She even partnered with ex-love Zeke to tackle the return of an old evil, the Efreet, attacking the genies. It has all the requirements for fantasy, magic beings and make believe. I love it. I hope we see more of Jo and Zeke in future books [...]

    5. Entertaining story, but not what I expected after reading the first chapter (because I don’t always read the blurb!). Now, if the first chapter said “Prologue,” I would have been okay (I know, picky me). This being the beginning of a series, not all the plot lines are finished, but the major one is wrapped up. If you’re looking for a different kind of paranormal without any romance, give this one a try.

    6. Good genies fight bad efritsJo may weather, owner of may weather antiques, tries to save genies from bad problems.a genie gone rogue(an efrit)seeks to kill other genies the way,Jo is a genie tooory kinda went downhill for me after the two thirds markill would be interested to read the sequel, though

    7. Great voice and characterization in this fun, unique urban fantasy by B.E. Sanderson. The main character is strong-willed and snarky, which is right up my alley. I don't know a lot about djinn (genies), so this was really fun. It goes way beyond your basic three wishes to a complex society of djinn, a council that oversees them, an ancient war, and what happens if a djinn decides to break the rules that bind them. There's a great array of supporting characters, from Zeke, the powerful ex-boyfrie [...]

    8. I stayed up way too late finishing this novel - I couldn't put it down! It's the best book I've read in ages.Becoming a djinn doesn't slow Jo down, but it doesn't make her all-powerful, either. She's a sparky yet vulnerable woman who's determined to do her best for the people who rely on her.Highly recommended!I won this book in a giveaway, and I'm very happy I did.

    9. It was ok I had trouble getting into it at first but it did get better just not a favourite read of mine.

    10. A former djinn hell bent on saving slaved djinn. The main character makes it her mission to free all djinn. Her journey is funny will make you laugh out loud yet times when you feel an ache in your heart. I found this story well written and enjoyable. This story is easily one of my favorites i have read this year. Well worth the time to read
